I don’t know what they are teaching in Drivers Ed these days, but whatever it is, it ain’t working!

Some days I feel like the only driver on the road that is paying attention at all. On other days I feel like I am the only courteous driver on earth.

Don’t get me wrong, I speed on occasion and tend to have a lead foot now and again - but I always check my surroundings before engaging in low-level NASCAR shenanigans. I exaggerate a bit. I rarely drive faster than 75 miles an hour on the highway. Which around here is 10 miles over the speed limit.

I know, I know…I’m living on the edge.

In all seriousness though, I just don’t get what some people are thinking out there? Do they not see the other motorists on the road? Or do they just not care?

Probably both. My tip for driving nowadays is - always drive defensively. Try to anticipate others’ moves before they make them. Some profiling is needed. Don’t worry, in this case, it doesn’t make you a bad person. Chances are if someone’s front end is all banged up and their muffler is dragging behind them - you’re going to want to stay out of the way.

When it comes to safe driving these days, it’s everyone for themselves. That, sadly, I say with great confidence.
”A safe driver is a defensive driver,” I say!
How do some people get their driver’s licenses these days anyway?

It’s anyone’s guess?
